Harry Potter : The Complete 1-8 Film Collection - Limited Numbered Edition.

Its been a while since I've updated the blog, and I've got a few toys & blu-rays which I didn't have time to photograph properly for the blog.
This entry however, imho, must be posted.

The boxset contains 19 disc, blu-ray & dvd, along with a photobook much like Harry's photo album which he received from Hagrid in year 1.

For a special 'numbered edition', I feels as if the set isn't so special. It feels as if it was lazily done.
The DVD's are taken straight from the normal dvd sets, and the box lid does not have a magnet or whatnot to close firmly.
However, the digipack is nicely done with a brief summary of the story for each year, great artwork too.
So basically, the perks in getting this boxset is the 19 disc blu-ray/dvd and the photobook. Other than that, its just a normal Harry Potter blu-ray.
Disappointingly, it is said that there will be a "Definitive COllection Set" end of next year which is rumored to have the extended edition.

Oh, btw, this is how the parcel was when I recieved it.

There was a small dent to the boxset, but it was hardly noticeable-ish.

Halo Encyclopedia: Revised & Updated

I've played the 1st Halo on PC & I loved it. However, I missed out the rest of the other series due to not having an XBox.
I love the design and the story of Halo but I could never get to play the game.
Then I saw the encyclopedia and thought I should get it, especially when Dorling Kindersley revise the encyclopedia with information on Halo : Reach.

Bought this from Amazon.ca but I guess you can find 'em locally.

Anyway, this here seems to be me lucky day.
Got this at a local hypermarket. Can't/Don't remember which wave, but I believe its the Coronet Super Bee wave.

Finally got the new Mini & Ken Block's Focus. Not to mention the Skyline R32 & the Civic.

Square Enix Play Arts 'Kai' Halo - Master Chief

I honestly doesn't know which line or series this is, but I believe it is one of many.

Please correct me otherwise.

This here is Master Chief, the one from Halo. Those who has an Xbox 360 would know him. Those who play video games would also know of him.

The Halo action figure were made mostly by McFarlanes. Now Squere Enix comes out with its Halo line starting with the Halo : Reach series. It has a few flaws in terms of loose joints in some areas. This time, they manage to rectify those problems with a tighten, but not too loose, rachet joints which manage to give the figure a few awesome pose.

The packaging is different than the other Play Art lineup. It has a flip out lid.

Cool.

To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Halo.

I was so excited when I found out Play Arts will be making him. It doesn't dissapoint.

Most of the flaws were rectify from the previous Halo line & much more. The colour looks more like an amour. The rachet joints feels tight & responsive.

The packaging is another plus. Me likey.

However, the feet looks a little too small though. And since the top is heavy it can topple over easily. So you have to find that sweet spot when posing it. Not a biggie.

Tiger & Bunny is an anime series that tells the stories of people with super powers call NEXT. These 'Heroes' works for a Hero TV that shows them crime fighting & who ever catches the bad guys get points. The one with the most amount of points would be the MVP.

I was taken back by the hefty price, as expected with any other Japanese toys. But the detail are wonderfully done & it is quite heavy for its size. The weight is mainly because some joints and the legs is diecast.

Mon*Star's Thundercats Cameo

I was watching the latest episode (eps 7) of the new Thundercats, 'Legacy', when I saw a somewhat familiar face, MonStar.

Also made a cameo appearance are the Tigersharks.

Those who is an 80's kid would know Mon*Star as the villain from Silverhawks, the one eye mob-boss that rides a giant squid. Just like Mumm-Ra, he transform into a superbeing by reciting "Moonstar of Limbo. Give me the Might, the Muscle, the Menace, of MON*STA!!"

Then he rides the squid.

Although my memory of Tigershark is somewhat a blur. I've seen one or two episode but not enough to burn the image into me mind.

Seeing this, one thing that comes into my mind; a Silverhawk reboot, maybe. Then again this episode is somewhat a flashback to tell the story of how the Swords of Omen was created, and why Mumm-Ra is so obsessed in getting the sword & The Eye of Thundera.

The new Thundercats got mixed review. Some afraid that just like the original, it is a marketing ploy to sell their toys. Hmmm.......
Of all the episodes so far, I can say that this episode is the best thus far.

As from previous post, the '1/32 2008 Super GT GT500 #17 Real NSX', this model car is from the 2009 series and just like the NSX it is beautifully detailed.

The back of the box has a removable panel that could display the car from both sides.

I got this at a discounted price from an online store in Japan, & I may be planning to get me another one.

Square Enix Play Arts [Kai] Halo : Reach - Vol. 2

Its done. Square Enix Play [Kai] for Halo : Reach is complete.

The haul is that of late, but better late than never.

This here is the 2nd wave which consist of Carter, leader of the Noble Team, Jorge & Kat, the only human female in the Halo universe.

The only figure that has booty.

The issue I have for the series is that the ball joints tends to get loose in time. This may due to some figures which is top heavy or the socket is, well, loose.

I had to use Future floor polish on the ball joint which actually works well.

1/32 2008 Super GT GT500 #17 Real NSX

That's a mouthful.
I don't know much about Super GT, as I didn't have the chance to follow them.
I even missed every race that I wish I could go too even if it was held right here in Malaysia.
But damn those cars are cool.

Of all the models/make, the late Honda NSX looks the coolest. Its low & sleek silhouette make it look as if it is slithering on the race track.

This one here is from 'Bugzees', first time heard 'bout 'em, which produces Super GT model cars.

One thing to notice is the intricate details of the very, very tiny decals/stickers around the car. They even have decals/stickers on the spoke of the rims!

Dark Of The Moon Voyager Class Megatron

This is my first DOTM voyager class which I think is extremely cool.

Although it is a bit small, much smaller than deluxe class, the mold on him is stunningly detailed.

I only manage to find the Takara Tomy's version as it is the only version/released in the market. The paint quality are said to be similar to Hasbro's.

The point between the truck & the trailer can be turn at a certain degree. How awesome is that?!
Oh, and I painted the MACK logo on the grill.

There's a 'Mechtech' port on top of the truck cab, or in this case, his back.

The fusion cannon cum claw.

A face only The Fallen would love. Alas, he is dead.

Ala comeinye Megatron. Malu-malu plak.

The cape are made from a hard flexible rubber (or a flexible rubbery plastic).

"Now we meet the truth all I wanted back in charge. Besides, who would you be without me, Prime?"

Can't wait for the leader class, and I hope its wouldn't be a disappointment.

This is kinda a late entry for Mirai, and my blog, as she's already been in the market for some time now.
Anyway, Mirai Suenaga is Danny Choo's brainchild and 'ambassador' to dannychoo.com. Danny's extensive coverage on Goodsmile Company manage to secure Mirai as one of the figma family.
Not much o' accessories that comes with it. It has a crying face, a laptop, a right-hand-holding-a-camera, a left-hand-holding-a-handkerchief, a teeny tiny Mirai dollfie, and a few alternate hands.

Hot Wheels Lamborghini Gallardo

A new cast from Hot Wheels, the baby Lambo's ; LP560-4 & LP570-4 Superleggera is one of the beautiful cast taken from a beautiful car.

Made its debut in 2010, they consist of the Speed Machine line and the All Stars mainline. The Superleggeras made it appearance in the 2011 New Models.

My favs, of course would be the LP570 Superleggera. Awesome colours & bodykits.
The black & white paint job is a little thin though. Especially the white one.

Hot Toys Iron Man 2 Mark VI - Part II Battle Damage

Here's the continuation of Hot Toys Iron Man 2 Mark VI in battle damage form.
Damage parts or panels are :
i) face plate,
ii) chest plate,
iii) left shoulder guard/armour,
iv) left bicep guard/armour,
v) whole left arm,
vi) both thigh guard/plate.

Some parts/panels are shown in the manual on how to exchange them, like the whole arm for example. Others don't.

Some part, small parts actually, have magnet in them. Like the bicep armour and the face plate. Other parts/panels just consist of pegs.

Awesome detail.

I didn't shoot much, since most of them can be seen in Part I.
Although I manage to take a few with War Machine.

Give 'em a wave.

War Machine still the best.

I don't have the Mark III battle damage so I can't compare or say much on Mark VI battle damage version. There are some quality issue particularly one or two magnets which is loose. The clear plastic on the BD chest plate actually came off, and I have to cement/glue it back on.
Unless HT makes Whiplash Mark II, I'll be keeping Mark VI undamaged.

Hot Toys Iron Man 2 Mark VI - Part I Unboxing

This is my first battle damage, and there's a lot of parts & panels for this 1/6 figure. Will have to post in two parts for this.
For this I'll be reviewing the 'clean version' along with some of it gimmicks.

Like other Iron Man II Hot Toys series, it comes with a glossy sleeve. Me no like.

The parts & panels are packed nicely and surprisingly fit inside the standard size packaging. Which makes the box quite hefty.

1st tray.

A very nice looking sculpt, as usual.

2nd tray.

3rd tray. Stand & 'extra special figure stand'.

Jarvis?
Online, sir.

Shoulder mounted micro munition pod.

Wrist laser.

Flare pods.

Forearm rockets.

Initial thoughts on this figure is a mix bag. Its highly detailed, lots of gimmicks and features. Although I can't help feeling that it feels cheap, plasticky.
I say this because unlike War Machine, it feels too light. It isn't as hefty as WM is. Then again I understand due to the waist mechanism that enable the figure bends and twist its torso, it feels hollow. But thats just me.
Overall, Its an awesome haul and Hot Toys has yet again did a fine toy. Wonder if they'll be coming up with Whiplash Mark II?

GT5 Collector's Pack 1:43 Nissan GT-R

Credit to saruman for giving me the heads up on the arrival of the Collector's Pack & helping me out in getting me one.

Back when GT5 was released, you can only get the GT-R via the US Collector's Edition. The difference between the now Collector's Pack is the certicicate of authenticity & a key chain.

The car is a thing of beauty. Kyosho manage to put gorgeous details on a diecast this size. Even the brake disc & caliphers are painted.
I can only imagine how a 1:18 scale model would look like.

I'm glad I waited to get myself a GT5. If I hadn't waited, I could be spending more on something that is at fraction of a price.

1:18 Back To The Future DeLorean

"The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"

I was poisoned by a fellow toya, cowboy75, for his 1:43 BTTF DeLorean collection. Then saruman poison me more by telling that the 1:18 from Sunstar would look even cooler.
He was right. I looiiiiike.

The body is diecast, giving the stainless steel effect of the real DeLorean. This also give the car a hefty weight.

Due to this, though, the driver side gull wing door starts to feel loose.

If I were to nit picking, I would say the detail on the cables, detailing on the nuclear reactor & the interior isn't perfect. Flash mold can be seen throughout the detailing & the paint is somewhat lacking.

Then again, the price is justifiable.

Overall I'm proud to have this time machine in my collection.

1st off, credit to mr. saruman for getting four of the new 2011 wave.

Now, I'm somewhat confuse with the new wave coming in Malaysian shores. You have the Pontiac GTO wave, the Studebaker wave, Corvette wave and the Impala wave. All at once?!
It is sold at different places at J.Jusco, Carrefour, Cold Storage and even 7-Eleven. Now you have more ground to hunt.
Another thing is that the price ranges from RM6.00 to RM8.00, depending on the store. Which means, if you're lucky, you might get a massive haul at the cheapest price.

The following hauled at C4, which still retains the cheapest price around.

Transformers Masterpiece MP-09 - Rodimus Convoy [REVIEW]

Transformers fan should know him. Young one would say, "Thats not Hot Rod. Where's his bow? Why does his face look funny, & old? How come he has a winnebago?".
We old timer knows him from G1 Transformers. A hot blooded hot shot that inherits the Matrix Of Leadership while fighting Galvatron inside Unicron.
Well, thats how I known him.

WARNING! PICTURE HEAVY.

Takara Tomy finally manage to produced Hot Rodimus (or Hot Rod) & Rodimus Convoy (or Rodimus Prime) not as two separate line, but as one.

There seems to be QC issues for this MP09. It may differs from one batch to another, but thankfully, mine isn't so much. The only problem is getting the alignment right 1st time. Panel falls off but easily snapped back together.

I'm nick picking here, but I found paint smudges on some parts of the figure, and the backpack is hard to stay pegged.

I only transformed it once & its a nightmare. Getting things to align, especially the arms & legs requires multiple tries. But when you understand where the pegs should go & how the parts should formed, then it should be a breeze.

Car mode is spot on similar to the animation. Me likey....

'SPACE WINNEBAGO' MODE

The trailer mode looks awesome! Requires a few turns to the cab, its exhaust piping & sliding it into the trailer.

Pressing the top button of the trailer pops open the compartment. Houses the huge canon & compartments for the two blasters, buzz saw & plasma weld attachment.

I couldn't compare with the other Masterpice line, but I believe that the figure could be better. Transforming MP09 Rodimus Convoy is a nightmare at first, but the purpose of a toy/figure is to play with it. Understand your particular toy/figure to find that sweet spot on how the legs should go to fit the pegs just right. You will end up with a feeling of satisfaction & a smile on your face.
No toys/figure is perfect. Transformers from Takara Tomy are known for its good QC & exquisite paint job, but misalignment, paint smudges & loose panels to some degree hinders this toy/figure getting a high score.
Its a love hate relationship with this figure, and fortunately I loved it.

My first Transformers Masterpiece.

Always wanted a TF Masterpiece ever since I saw the original MP Starscream (MP-03). Unfortunately, at that time, I couldn't quite afford it.

I know of Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime when I saw it in Transformers The Movie (1986).

It fits snuggly in the box. Surprised theres no padding like previous orders.

Dead Space 2 Collector's Edition

Pre-ordered from Amazon.com few weeks back & it finally arrived yesterday. Took about 5 days via DHL, considering it has to stop at Honk Kong for sorting & stuff.
I'm a happy camper.

Yup, I self collect.

Played the 1st Dead Space & it scared the sh!t out of me. Developed by EA Redwood Shore (now known as Viceral Games), this survival horror game manage to capture the scary sight & sound of a stricken mining spaceship infested with alien zombies.

Content Consist of

- The Dead Space 2 game along with Dead Space Extraction.

- Original soundtrack.

- A small replica Plasma cutter.

- Concept art 'lithograph'

- Downloadable Zealot Gun & suit.

I also received a promotional code via email from Amazon.com for Dead Space Ignition.

Manual is in black & white.

Foil cover sleeve & box.

There seems to be a lot of disappointed DS2 C'sE owners especially on the cutter. Its to small. the LED should be blue but instead its green, & even the type of material used feels cheap. You even have to buy the batteries separately. I'm not to bothered by it because I think it does look cool & this will go primarily on the shelf for display.

Collector's Edition isn't as extensive as any other CE I've seen out there, but with the price I paid its seems reasonable.

Dead Space 2 is by far the most scariest survival horror games out there. If you like adventure & need a different adrenaline rush, Dead Space is for you.

Next, Mass Effect 2, maybe?

Went to the JJ at the pointy shopping center in Sunway & I got these fellow.

Then I saw these,

and even before I could open my mouth, the sale ass. told me that its not for sale yet, as there is no price tag on in.
When I asked him when will it be on the rack he answered,
"This Thursday. Er, I mean, before Sunday."
Then he go on to say that the cars can only be displayed once it got the manager's stamp & approval.
Stamp? I showed him the HW's I got and asked him to show wheres the stamp is.

He stayed silent.
"Can I see your manager?" I asked.
He promptly answered,
"He's not in.", not paying attention to me even the slightest.

All this while I asked politely & even with a smile.
Before I left, I took the pic of the boxes to show you guys.
I also believe that most 'greens' are already 'extracted' from the boxes.

So I moved on to my next objective which was to get the zip lock bags for the loose cars.

Evangelion PC Jacket for iPhone 4

No toys today, but iPhone 4 stuff.
I've been using the original iPhone 4 bumper for quite some time now & it is both reliable ~~and durable~~.
I figured I want to preserve the condition of the bumper so I thought I get iPhone jackets. Just for looks.

Browsing around the web, I found this anime 'collectible goods'.

Made from polycarbonate, or plastic resin, its design based on the Evangelion New Theatrical Edition movie.

It also comes with the plugsuit design of Rei, Asuka & Mari with thier respective number (0, 2 & 5).

Design is simple, which I like, with the NERV emblem in the middle.

The jacket is somewhat flush with the screen. So placing your iPhone 4 face down is a no-no.
Its a finger print, & oil, magnet & of course, prone to scratches.
Another thing I notice is that its a tight fit. So having some sort of protective backing, depends on how thick, could be problematic.
Overall, it looks nice & it does give a little protection to your iPhone.

Hot Wheels Ford Focus RS is one of the best cast I've seen in this scale.

There's a saying in Malaysia ; Malu bertanya sesat jalan. It literally means if you don't ask, you'll be lost.

So, when I was at the kiddies section in a local mall, I took the initiative to ask whether there's any more Hot Wheels in storage. They do, & I got lucky.

Some would wouldn't bother asking the sales assistant to ask those kind of question because most answers you will get is ;

- No more. Those are the only ones left.

- There is, but they're the same car as the one on the rack.

- What you see is what you get.

The Avatar Extended Collector's Blu ray Edition has been in the market for a while now.

Obviously, I pre-ordered mine from Amazon.com at a bargain price & it only arrived last week.

The local edition is in a form of a steelbook with similar blu ray disc.

This edition is in a form of paper sleeves, & lots of them.

Pulling the sleeves out reveals another sleeves for the disc.

Shows graphics of Neytiri & movie/disc info.

Packaging banged up a bit noticeably the outer sleeves, but the content is intact.

Disc three (3), IMHO, is the most fun & cool with its featurettes.

This is a must get for blu ray & movie fans.

Halo : Reach.
An awesome first person shooter game for Xbox 360 which you play as Noble Six fighting off the alien Covenent on the planet colony of Reach.
Square Enix were given the license to produce these fine figure with the Play Arts [Kai]. These 1st volume, consist of Noble Six, Jun and Emile.

Made of steel & soft plastic, the figures has a very good range of articulation. The knees are double jointed allowing it to kneel down.

All of the accessories that comes with the figure includes a pair of trigger finger hands & a grenade.

The wave/volume 2 will be Carter, Kat & Jorge. Expected to be release Jan 2011.

I'm somewhat disappointed with Emile's QC. Among which is the ball joint on the hip is loose & oil smudges, from molding proses (& a lot of em), can be seen on his right leg.

All figure also comes with back art with the word "Kai".

Apart from the QC hiccups on Emile, the figure is still awesome. It still stands & poses very well.

The Anime.

Summer Wars is a 2009 science fiction anime directed by Mamoru Hosoda & produced by Madhouse.

Set in a territory governed by a clan in Ueda, the film's focuses on Kenji Kaiso, a timid 11th grade math genius who was falsely implicated in hacking the virtual world of Oz (no, not the one with the yellow brick road), & with the help of upper-classman Natsuki Shinohara's extensive family, they must find a way to save the real world & the world of Oz.

King Kazma is one of the avatar from Oz's world owned by Kazuma Ikezawa, a 13 year old netgame warrior champion.

It takes form of a human like rabbit that seriously kicks ass.

The figures are wrapped rather well to prevent paint sticking to the packaging. It has two trays, one for the figure & the the other is for the accessories.

Instruction wise, you have instruction on how to change the figures' face on one of the flap of the box & a piece of paper showing how to attach the banner to the figure. Thats it.

It also has a cut-out from the box that can be attached to a Di:Stage.

This is Kenji Kaiso's temporary avatar after his original were taken by a AI program called Love Machine. Figma's Love Machine will be release sometime next month, or early next year.

Yes, its a squirrel.

Theres no articulation, just the figure & stand. It does have a hefty weight to it though.

Come together with a zip lock bag for storing all the accessories. A plus.

Figma's line of toy figures are mostly, if not all, characters from Japanese anime.

The paint job is beautiful, has a lot of range in articulation and build quality is good. Theres a lot of flexible soft plastic to cater the articulation which you can pose the toy as in the film.

It is beautifully done & reminiscent of the anime, which anime lover should watch.

1/60 Scale Macross Zero QF-2200D-B Ghost Booster - Part 2

This is the continuation from Part 1.

Installing the booster is easy.

It only takes two pegs from the flip-down wing canard and slotting the wings to the two rudders, & it fits very well.

I hold the VF-0S vertically & upside down and it still attaches itself snuggly.

It gives quite a weight to the rear, but thats actually a plus to the transformation as it provide as a counterbalance when in Gerwalk mode.

Where's the Battroid conversion?

I not that of a fan, so I didn't bother, nor the time, to transform it.

If I have time, I'll might put it up.

I remember watching the Battlestar Galactica television series when I was still a kid.
I love the design of the Viper Mk I back then, but when I say the new Mk II from BSG series, I love it even more.
It looks like a sports car in space.

Manufactured by Moebius, known for sci-fi model kits, it receive good reviews from modelers.

What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

Unless if its the 1/6th scale Variable Threat Response Battle Suit a.k.a War Machine from Iron Man 2.
Entered Malaysian shores end of last month & the 1st batch sold out in a day.
Worn by Colonel James Rupert Rhodes or Rhodey, it was a reversed engineered Mark II which was 'taken' by him from Stark and modified with the help of Justin Hammer. Most notable differences are the weapons add-on courtesy of Hammer Industries which includes the M134 7362mm mini gun, FN F2000 assault rifles, and of course Justin Hammer's Eiffel tower, his Rachmaninoff, his Pieta; The Ex-Wife.

Some who already has this fine collectible would complain on some of the detail that are missing. Noticeably the Air Force emblem on the left arm & a few letters & numbers. Word around the web says that it may because Hot Toys didn't have the rights to print them on their toys. I guess we wouldn't expect 1/6 Hammer Drones from HT anytime soon.

M134 7362mm mini gun.HT made a mistake with the instruction on attaching the ammunition belt. The flat surface should be facing up & not the other way around.

I'm happy with the effort in the details HT put on this toy/collectibles. Colour scheme is excellent, gun detail, and they did an 'ok' job on Don Cheadle's head sculpt.
A few issues I have is the LED lighting for the head. It is brightest when you look at it head on. Any other angle and you loose the effect.
Articulation still not perfect (can't do the salute) but you still able to pose most of the battle scenes.

If you are a movie fan, an Iron Man fan, a 1/6 fan & a toy collector, then you should have pre-ordered the 1/6th scale Variable Threat Response Battle Suit a.k.a War Machine from Hot Toys.

It is said to be the mu-th-ur of all blu-ray, the Alien Anthology is a 6 disc is a must have for blu-ray, high-def and alien fans.

Facehuggers, chestbusters & the ever so sexy alien queen makes it comeback in a 1080p. Now, you can watch the Nostromo in high def detail.

Initially went for Amazon.com, but when I saw how cheap it is in Amazon.co.uk, I had to pre-order it.

Oh, fyi, I bought it for only RM180.

Its daylight robbery.

Packaging has the metallic-foil like look which glistens under bright light.

Looks amazing, but its hard to take photos without having a big white reflective glare on the pics.

I agree.

Movies purchased from UK are known by the age classification on the box set, which is a bummer for me.

The US version, however, has a clean graphics on the packaging.

The disc holder spreads out revealing Giger's Alien graphic.

The 4 discs of the featured film & 2 making of disc.

You have to clear your weekend schedule to go through the anthology.

The hours in it is massive!

Just like the Bay's movie, some people doesn't like the alternate or vehicle form of Soundwave.

People still think it as the boombox from the original G1 series.

But this is Soundwave before the G1 saga & it is in Cybertron.

Love the look in robot mode.

Although the feet is huge!

No cassettes, but blasters & rocket/missile launchers instead.

Weapons when in vehicle mode.

Or stash them in the chest compartment.

iPhone 4 has finally hit Malaysian shores.

It is considered to be a big event with local tv station making live coverage of the launch. The launch was organised by one of the local telco, Maxis, which offers the iPhone at a 'subsidised' price along with its call plans.

The launching was on the 23rd Sept and I only manage to book for the 2nd day of the launch which is on the 24th.

I must say, the organiser made a boo-boo by reducing the sales counter which resulted in customers waiting for their iPhone up to the wee hours of the morning.

Despite the weariness, people still wait to get their hands on the merchandise.

It was worth the wait.

The phone is quite hefty due to the glass at the front and back, which is a fingerprint magnet by the way.

The box doesn't come with the manual but instead a brief startup intro & safety warning booklet.

Here's the content (from top left) :

- earphone with remote & mic

- USB power adapter

- startup booklet with 2 Apple logo stickers

- micro sim ejector pin

- iPhone 4

- dock connector to USB cable

It doesn't come with the free bumper though. This is due to the updated software/firmware & that the phone is a new improved batch. So they say.

Me old & current sim cut to size.

The respective owners were given a choice whether to obtain a new micro sim card or keep our existing sim card, with our existing contact etc, & have them cut to micro sim size.

Since it was already 3.00 in the morning, I opted for the cut. *snip *snip

The booklets.

I've always interested on the iPhone meaning to get one ever since the 1st gen was released years ago. What deterred me was the price.

One minor gripe that I have for the iPhone it requires the use of proprietary software in most of its content. From the use of iTune to the format for the ringtones.

I guess it is necessary to maintain its uniqueness & preventing the iPhone from breaking down.

I must say that I am now a proud owner of one of the best invention in the world.

After French toast of course.

So I got me a Hyena.

This is what I saw when I opened my e-mail this morning, an invitation for the new iPhone 4 launch this 23rd September 2010.

Initially I was stoked to see the rates somewhat similar (cheaper?) to the 3GS & iPhone's price is less than I initially expected (kira within budget la).

There are dissatisfaction over the plan offered as it mainly caters for new iPhone 4 owners and not to the current 3GS owners who wants to upgrade their current iPhone. Upgrading their current plan still requires them to pay extra.

The iPhone 4-owner-hopefuls (fingers crossed) received an email notifying of the launch & your intention to book a spot to attend the launch.

There's the Pre-Launch, Midnight Launch & Day Launch which will take place at The Gardens Hotel & Residence starting on the 23rd to 25th Sept.

The Pre & Midnight launch are already booked, so that left me with the Day Launch.

There is a concern with the launch is that the Bumper case does not come with the package.

For those who haven't follow the iPhone 4's news etc, there is a design flaw with the phone whereby if holding it 'incorrectly', you would get a signal drop.

Hence, Apple has agreed to give out free Bumpers to new iPhone 4 users.

The thing is, theres a lot of alternative smartphones out there in the market that rivals the iPhone.

Most of them are good.

It all comes down to user preferences to which phone that would fit your lifestyle.

Well see in a few days how Digi would present their plan.

iPhone 4 bumper sold here is USD41.00. Although you can get imitations at only USD12.00 to USD15.00.

RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam : WIP #01

This kit is to commemorate Gundam's 30th anniversary & to mimic the 1/1 scale RX-78-2 at Shizuoka.

Been excited about this kit ever since it was announced few months ago.

I'm not a fan of 1/144 scale gunplas mainly because of its articulation & details are not as good as an MG. Yes, there are a few that came out with better articulation, but none came close in detail than the RG.

RG or Real Grade is a grade higher than HGUC in 1/144 scale. Theres a lot of parts that make up for the panels etc. Its like building an MG (Master Grade) but in smaller scale.

Contents. Lots of runners for a 1/144 scale.

Few molds combine to make up one part on a runner/sprue.

These are the hands. Fingers are bendable.

This part is the legs.

RX-78-2 frame.

Foil stickers. Need to be very delicate.

Using a toothpick to smooth out the stickers.

Core Fighter, done.

Right arm, done.

For this particular kit, I won't be painting the parts.

Next up will be the stickers/decals & panel lining.

I start to get interested in collecting the "DC Comics Super Hero Collection" when I purchased the 1st issue. All thanks to cowboy75, saruman & The Rebel for the introduction, and poison.

So I went to a local bookstore & got the 2nd issue, Superman.

Batman : "I'm Batman."

For those who already starting collecting or have purchased the figurines, it is hand painted lead which is quite hefty in weight.

Since it is hand painted, each individual figurine is different. You have to look at each one to see for defect in painting.

Batman : "I'm Batman."

Superman : "We know!!"

Got this at the local mall, the GTX wave. It seems it has been on th rack for a while & all the good one are, obviously, taken.

Browsing around TrU, I found another Snowspeeder tucked behind the shelves along with the numbers of Cloud Cars & Jedi Starfighters.

This will be kept as MISB & the one I already have will be customize for battle damage.

Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons Leader Class - Starscream

This has been in the market for quite sometime & it is one of two of the leader class for the Hunt for the Decepticons 2010 toyline.
The other is, of course, Optimus Prime battle damage version.

Most, if not all, of the HFTD packaging are yellow. Its skinnier than the ROTF package & has a lot of tying wire.

Back.

Sides.

The alt. mod feels solid as all of the parts fits & hold well. A plus there.
However, the robot parts/kibble are evidently shown but blends well in vehicle form.

Missiles & launcher tuck beneath the plane.

Although one of the missile is somewhat lose.

Right arm - Concealed gatling gun.

Left arm - Concealed rockets.
Ironman-ish.

Transforming it is a blast. It manage to capture the design from the movie quite well.
The parts feels rigid & the ratchet joints is solid.
The articulation is superb apart from the waist & hands.

Able to place missile & launcher on back in robot mode.

"Your wish is my command, o mighty Megatron."

Of all the Transformers character, Starscream is one of my favorite.
I fell in love with this design when I first say the trailer for the 1st movie.
I'm glad that Hasbro released this one.

Takara plans to release Starscream as a Masterpiece version without the Cybertronian tattoo sometime this year.
Will the build quality will be better than this?

Otacool is the 1st English/Japanese language book that introduces readers to the world of otaku's.

Publish by Kotobukiya in collaboration with DannyChoo.com, it gathers photos from members in the Figure.fm website for all things otaku.

The 1st Otacool, Worldwide Otaku Rooms, shows the room in which otaku from all over the world display & live with their figurine, models (mainly Gundams) and toys.

Otacool 2 show cosplays from all over the world.

The 3rd installment shows the workplace of otaku's, where they work, study and even sleeps.

Since I missed the submission for the 1st publication, & I don't do cosplays, I thought why not submit my workplace.
